The “Tomer” school, a special education elementary and high school, located in Nes Ziona, recently held a special evening for parents of children who will graduate in the next two years. This evening, hosted by representatives of the Ministry of Welfare, provided parents with information and guidance regarding continuation options for their children’s future. Sheltered living, protected employment and supported employment were the main topics on the agenda.
About 40 parents from around the center and the lowlands participated in the event.
Shmaya, as a primary organization running supported employment programs, presented its program, with the option of integration within community housing programs. The parents were favorably impressed by the comprehensive information presented to them and the exciting possibility of combining supportive housing and supported employment in one place!
At the end of the evening, detailed information brochures were distributed to the parents, and personal conversations were held with the program coordinators, where the parents could get answers to their questions and receive personalized advice.
