Event for Teachers who Integrate a Disabled Child in their Class.
Yesterday, Shmaya's Therapy Center ran a professional explanatory event, for teachers who integrate a disabled child in their classroom, in appreciation of these teachers.
In The Works...
We are pleased to inform you of the upcoming opening of a new course;
Group sessions in sign language, pondering experiences from the world of employment!
The sessions will be led by a social worker who is also a sign language interpreter.
The goal is to give the women the tools, to maintain and succeed at, their jobs.
They were developed based on our experience with people who communicate in sign language, in our work department; in employment training, work placement, and guidance in the workplace.
The course is open to women in the wider community.


 
New Integrated Community Drama School At Shmaya, disability does not prevent you from using your talents.

In a new and exciting enterprise, in partnership with the Ministry of Welfare, Shmaya launches the opening of a school for professional drama studies.
Shmaya and the Tel-Aviv Municipality in an innovative partnership.
Shmaya and the Tel-Aviv Municipality launch the unique, "Tutim Center for Families".

An evening for parents and opening of the year took place for Shmaya's Daycare Center in Be-er Sheva, for children with complex physical disabilities .

Professional Lecture in Partnership with Bney Brak Municipality

A convention for parents of disabled children took place in a partnership between Shmaya and the Bney Brak Municipality. Tens of parents of disabled children and adults participated in the event at Shmaya's Convention Center.

Shmaya′s directors visited the office of Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Yosef, with a number of deaf and hearing impaired children.# During the visit a number of halachic questions were discussed as well as general topics related to the deaf and hearing impaired.

Lecture on Treatment for Clarity of Speech  
Shmaya hosted a lecture on this topic, by expert speech therapist, Avivit Ben David, for parents and teachers of children with speech difficulties. Participants gained much knowledge and many new tools.
 
Lecture on Identity with Disability
Shmaya hosted a lecture on this topic, by Dr. Benjamin Husmi, Principal of the "Beit Izzy Shapira" academy, for parents of disabled children.
New Member of Knesset Choses to do First Work Tour at Shmaya
MK Keren Barak, from the Likud party, took a tour of Shmaya's premises and was duly impresses, by the magnitude and scope of Shmaya's activities. At a meeting with Shmaya's directors Barak promised to promote a number of legislations for the benefit of people with disabilities.

CEO of National Insurance Institute meets with Shmaya′s Directors
 
At the meeting the CEO expressed how deeply impressed he is from the scope of Shmaya's activities, and promised to further the various partnerships between Shmaya and the Institute.
 
Exciting Trip for Shmaya′s Children Summer begins and the fun starts at Shmaya, with an enjoyable and experiential trip for Shmaya families. The children enjoyed a theme park, wet and dry attractions, light refereshments, and most importantly plenty of team spirit between family members and Shmaya friends.
Karate Victory: Shmaya′s club children won the first place for excellence in Karate among the deaf and hearing impaired in Israel.
All-Round Support for People with Epilepsy Hundreds of  families struggling with an epileptic family member, will enjoy all-encompassing support; emotional, professional and practical. "The program will be headed by people who understand epilepsy firsthand, from their personal struggle with epilepsy." says The Shmaya Organization who has taken up the challenge.
